Entry #6. LAKESHOW

Image
The Lakers are more formidable than they were last year when they won the 2020 NBA Championship. While it was a tough battle then and a well-deserved victory the workload fell down to 2 men, one of which is very much injury prone. Due to this, the Lakers were knocked off in the first round of the playoffs due to an injured Anthony Davis. While LeBron is an amazing player and certainly one of the best to ever grace the court he wasn't able to carry the team to another victory. Anthony Davis is an integral part of the team, he can shoot when he needs to and is an effective center playing excellent defense in the paint. A loss of someone literally that huge was too great. However, on July 30th of this year, Russel Westbrook joined the ranks and made a considerable difference. Russel Westbrook averages a triple-double and is capable of so much on the court. He can play defense and shoot and brings great team morale just like LeBron James. 2 people that are capable of that and an excell...

Entry #5. Advertising Chaos

Advertising always has and always will be a staple in media. It's all around us and this ad is no different ( Mayhem ). I believe the purpose of the ad is to make one think that people aren't paying as much attention as they should or there are unforeseen forces that people can't plan for. I also think that the other is trying to show that one can live even more lively because they are sound of mind and in this case, the guy is insured so he knows he's ok if he got in the same accident. In the ad, the man in front of the Allstate man got into a car accident because he was paying too much attention to the car behind him. As the Allstate man passed by he stated that the man's insurance won't cover that but Allstate would. I think the author is trying to promote a livelier lifestyle because the Allstate man was fearless on the road and was basically an inch away from the car in front of him with no fear of any consequences. The target audience could be people tha...

Entry #4. Turtles in a half shell

Image
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are icons in media. They have been around since 1984 and have been in many movies and tv shows and comics. While they haven't been as big as they used to be when I was a kid they are still pretty iconic and anyone can point them out just by seeing them. Their popularity soared again when Nickelodeon produced a movie about them in   2014 and they were exposed to a whole new generation. They are all named after Renaissance painters: Leonardo da Vinci (Blue) painted the Mona Lisa, Raphael (Red) painted School of Athens, Michelangelo (Orange) painted the Sistene Chapel, and Donatello (Purple) sculpted Saint Mark. They were named this way because the creators couldn't think of any ninja sounding Japanese names so they decided to the names of their favorite artists. The Ninja Turtles are still very popular and have even crossed over with the likes of Batman which is owned by a different publishing company. While their popularity has shifted over time ...

Entry #3. Sour not sweet

Very round and oval like, a dark shade of green with a few hints of yellow. After cut in half both sides fall, one side face down and the other sideways. Some juice leaks out but not too much. The wedge is rough on the back with many dimples and a faint hint of cold. Yet the other side is very soft and even colder than its counterpart. It is very juicy and sour and leaves behind an unpleasant aftertaste. The flavor causes a change in facial expression that isn't most flattering.
